Ashley Curtis Sundberg
PA-C, MPA
Ashley Curtis Sundberg is an accomplished physician assistant (PA) and member of the care team at Sea Island Medical Care. A proud alumna of Michigan State University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in human biology, she went on to earn a master’s degree in physician assistant studies from Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia. Following graduation, she remained in the area to practice in the fields of Emergency Medicine and Urgent Care.
Mrs. Sundberg’s medical roles prior to becoming a PA include working as a certified nursing assistant, medical assistant, and office administrator where she cultivated a sincere commitment to ensuring quality patient care at all levels. She is BLS and ACLS certified and a member of the AAPA.
Ashley moved to Mount Pleasant from Virginia with her husband and their Pembroke Welsh Corgi and recently welcomed a new son into their family. In her free time, she enjoys traveling and volunteering in the community. She also loves spending days enjoying the beach and trying new restaurants.

Lauren Williams
FNP
Lauren Williams is a family nurse practitioner (FNP) with an extensive background in women’s health. A registered nurse for nearly 10 years prior to advancing her degree, Lauren enjoyed caring for the entire family as a labor and delivery nurse. Lauren earned her master’s degree from Frontier Nursing University in Hyden, Kentucky, and has been providing excellent care to the patients of Sea Island Medical Care ever since.
Lauren’s interests include family medicine, psychiatric care, weight loss management, and integrating conventional western medicine with complementary alternative medicine to take better care of the whole person!
A Mount Pleasant local, Lauren enjoys spending her time off with her husband, Thomas, and their five children, and two French bulldogs. She loves to dig her toes in the sand while diving into a good book when her kids aren’t keeping her busy.

Sareena Hafey
FNP
Sareena Hafey is a doctorally prepared Nurse Practitioner specializing in Family Medicine. Dr. Hafey earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Methodist University in 2017. For seven years, she honed her skills in the fast-paced and demanding environment of the Emergency Room, developing expertise in acute care and critical thinking. In 2023, she achieved her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree from the University of Maryland, Baltimore.
Believing in a comprehensive approach to wellness, she is dedicated to providing holistic and evidence-based care. Dr. Hafey’s clinical interests encompass a wide range of health concerns, including the management of chronic conditions such as Hypertension and Type 2 Diabetes, as well as addressing acute needs related to orthopedic injuries.
Outside of her professional life, Sareena enjoys the relaxing atmosphere of the beach, the captivating escape of a good book, and the joyful companionship of her husband and beloved pups.
